Brought for gift for Mum for a very belated birthday, and was invited to watch this with her, and forgot how brilliant this movie is, and how a movie soundtrack can make a movie better. If I could decide on what movie needs to be remade, it would not be this one!!!
Ever arrive at the cinema and go to whatever is playing- This is how I became acquainted with this film. So glad I saw it. The film is faithful to the book. The villain played by Wes Studi is outstanding. Not to give the story away it is the best piece of summary justice I've ever seen dispensed. Daniel Day Lewis is superb and the music soundtrack is haunting and memorable. Even a piece by Clannad. I would strongly urge those who enjoy period pieces or simply love good movies to check this out. Truly a must see.
The Last of the Mohicans
British and French troops do battle in colonial America, with aid from various native American war parties. The British troops enlist the help of local colonial militiamen, who are reluctant to leave their homes undefended.
A budding romance between a British officer's daughter and an independent man who was reared as a Mohawk complicates things for the British officer, as the adopted Mohawk pursues his own agenda despite the wrath of different people on both sides of the conflict.
