The Warlords
Based on actual events, Jet Li and House of Flying Daggers stars Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro are blood brothers who join the 19th Century Taiping rebellion to bring down the corrupt Qing Dynasty. General Pang survives a battle which wiped out his entire battalion. His numbed mind deadened to life, he meets two bandits, Zhao and Jiang who welcome him into their village. A born leader, Zhao is a man of honour while Jiang is a charismatic outlaw.
Following a vicious Qing attack on the village, Pang convinces Zhao and his bandits to join the Qing Army – his plan, to end the war and restore peace to the land, but first he must rise to power. Standing side by side in battle, sworn to the ties of brotherhood, Pang's ambition grows. He'll stop at nothing to eliminate his enemies and achieve his goal. Now, poised to become Governor, Pang is about to ascent the platform for his inauguration. At his moment of glory will his past betrayals catch up with him?
