I had heard this Madonna directed film panned by critics but I enjoyed it mostly for the beautiful fashion, design, interiors and lifestyles of that period in history. It is a dual story set now following a woman in a difficult marriage who has an obsession with Edward and Mrs Simpson, their lives and their love story – it moves between this story and the story of the meeting and falling in love, the abducation and all that followed of Prince Edward and Wallis Simpson. Beautifully filmed, exquisite costumes, Andrea Riseborough makes an engaging Wallis.
