With a perfect mix of fun and brutal combat, exploration, storyline, action-RPG levelling up, variety and great length, this is kind of the ideal game.

Honestly, there is so much content in this game, it's astounding. The authentic Japanese voice acting is great (with English subtitles), the graphics are slick, and the many cutscenes which progress the story are beautifully animated. Wouldn't change a thing.

Not many action titles are as polished and well-rounded as Yakuza 4. Basically, if you've ever liked an action game, or just want a game that will keep you entertained for ages, you'll love this game. I know I do.

It's also ideal for newcomers to the Yakuza series, as you can watch lengthy summary cutscenes of the Yakuza 1–3 game events, meaning you won't have missed a beat.

"A polished product."

Yakuza 4 starts slowly but the action quickly intensifies. While your character begins with only basic moves. You eventually learn many powerful combos. In addition to this there are four playable characters each with their own unique fighting styles. The cut-scenes are rendered beautifully and the Japanese voice acting is top-notch. A very decent length of twenty hours makes up the main story line but the game is filled with many more side quests and curios that will keep you entertained for many more hours. I highly recommend this game for the casual gamer who enjoys movie like story-telling and fun and brutal looking fighting gameplay.

"Great Yakuza game"

Much better than Yakuza 3 which they took out the nightclub girls, Yakuza 4 is almost a complete translated version of the original JPN Ryu Ga Gotoku 4 (except for a Japanese Quiz game got left out).

Translation is not perfect, but you can understand the story and makes sense. You get to play 4 different Characters, which is good, so is not always the same guy, that you've been playing in the entire series. The police officer sub-stories which is really different from the rest of the character, but it do gets a bit repetitive after awhile

The next one in the series is Yakuza OTE, which is a zoombie turn-based-shooting game, that I bet Sega is just doing it as a trial for the market, to see how much it would sell. So before Yakuza 5 is released next year in Japan, Yakuza 4 would be the best on the market

And thanks for Mighty Ape, you now can get this for below half price~

Description

Yakuza 4 picks up the story of Yakuza 3 one year later and takes the player back to Tokyo. The story starts when a man is shot to death in the ruling territory of the Tojo Clan, the organisation that has featured in all games in the series to date. A small gang which belongs to Tojo Clan try to establish what happened and their leader is soon found stabbed to death. These events cause a heated battle between four men over money, power, status and honour. The truth becomes apparent as the lies, betrayals and entwined stories are revealed and when these 4 unflinching men get together, the new legend of Kamurocho is born.

Features:
  • Experience the Japanese underworld under the guise of 4 characters - it would not be a Yakuza game if you couldn’t still play as Kazuma, but now play as three of the other key characters from the franchise. Each character has different missions and allows the player to explore the city from different viewpoints and engage in the Japanese underworld more than has ever been seen before.
  • Authentic replication of Tokyo - In addition to the bright lights of downtown Tokyo, players can now go into the depths of the intricate underground, explore the backstreets of the city and take in the views from the rooftops of buildings.
  • Become the ultimate fighter - enhanced battle mechanics and a new fighter training system allow players to work on their skills and become the ultimate fighter.
  • Deep Japanese story - an intricate storyline that incorporates all aspects of Japanese culture including hostess bars, karaoke and city exploration.
