Description

Year of the Horse is a 1997 documentary on DVD directed by Jim Jarmusch following Neil Young and Crazy Horse on their 1996 tour.

Jim Jarmusch, award-winning director of DEAD MAN and BROKEN FLOWERS delves deep into the enigma of music titans Neil Young and Crazy Horse, taking an up close and personal look into the band that has been captivating the world for over three decades. Exploring the detailed fabric of Crazy Horse, including the tragic loss of  Danny Whitten, through to the camaraderie born out of years on the road, exclusive interviews are expertly mixed with rare footage from 1976 at the Hammersmith Odeon and 1986, as well as providing an all-access insight into the band's celebrated 1996 tour. Including several tracks from Broken Arrow, as well as classics ‘Tonight's The Night’, ‘Barstool Blues’ and ‘Like A Hurricane’. Featuring Ralph Molina, Frank ‘Pancho’ Sampedro, Billy Talbot, as well as Neil's dad Scott, creatively combining 16mm and Super8 film footage to elucidate Neil Young and Crazy Horse's dynamic music, infused with back stage humour and anecdotes, YEAR OF THE HORSE is an involving journey of master musicians who prove that Rock'n'Roll is a lifelong spiritual quest.
