This compilation looks back on nearly forty years of recordings featuring the music of the Maori people of New Zealand. Selected by the legendary recording company South Pacific Recordings’ “A Century of Maori Song” features 25 of their greatest hits with performers such as Maisey and Honey Rika, St Joseph’s Maori Girls’ College, Hato Paora College, Willie Matthews Quartet, Ngati Rangiwewehi, Morvin Simon, Rotorua International Maori Entertainers and the Aotearoa International Tour Company.
The songs selected are a wide range of music that has featured throughout the 20th Century and for obvious reasons the tracks have been selected from recordings of more recent years in order to ensure the highest quality sound possible.
