Sherman was, in 1859, for a few months, a resident of Leavenworth, Kas., and, for a brief period, of Shawnee county, near Topeka. He always took a great interest in the growth and development of Kansas. He was born in Ohio, in 1820, and died in New York city, February 14, 1891.
