A Game of Thrones reviews

When my friend told I would “love” this book I thought she was exaggerating. I thought I would like but I was wrong in many ways…I loved it.

I don't know if I'm into fantasy novels but I am surely into this one. The story is not difficult to comprehend. There are Houses, politics, wars, some good characters, a bastard child, prophecies, portents, warnings, dragons; and it's set in a world in which children grow up fast.

I know my review does not give it the justice it deserves but this book should be read by everyone.

If you have seen the TV series, it stays very true to the book.

An excellent writer. He draws you into a world, large and wonderous, filled with many amazing characters worthy Tolkien. The game of thrones is not a game for the week hearted, where there is betrayal and deceit hidden in unlikely places. Courage and honour are hard to come by, and only hinder you in the court of the Iron Throne.

I’ve been a big fan of the TV show since it began so now that the end is almost upon us I thought that I would read the books and I was blown away. It’s a genuine page turner and I would recommend this to any fans of the TV show, or literature in general.

It’s really cool to read all the little tidbits the tv show leaves out!

This book is amazing, If any of you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years, A Song Of Ice And Fire Series Is amazing, You may know it as Game Of Thrones. It is a brillant book. I will try not to spoil it but I'm sure you will love it.

Loved this book so much, had just started watching the tv series after my friends told me how good it was. After a bout a season and a half in I bought the first two books and finished them in about a week. George R.R. Martin is amazing.

Really easy read and although the tv show is exactly the same (word for word sometimes) its still an incredible book with a lot of depth and complicated story lines you might not follow if you just watched the show. 10/10

If you love the series and haven't read the books, you need to! I am an avid fan of the TV series and I recently read this book. George R R Martin is a very proficient writer, who has taken time to build up the environment of Westeros in such a way that you really get a feel for where it is set. Descriptive passages about each character, and each different village, adds a depth to the story that is not present in the TV series, including some history and background on some of your much loved (or hated) characters. The book is split into chapters, with each chapter taking up the story of a different character. Gripping and sensational, hard to put down.

I was nervous about reading the book seeming I have watched season 1 on TV, but it was great! They did an amazing job of following the book and reading the book answers questions I had about the TV show. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves the TV series and likes to read. Very hard to put down!

Absolutely love this book. All the characters are well written. Story line is amazing and full of twist and turns. A must read for any fantasy fan.

Such an awesome series, worth a read if you've seen or plan on seeing the HBO series.

This book is just the beginning of a great series. I recommend buying the multi-packs which include all 5 of the current books. This book was amazing and they only get better! George Martin is an AMAZING author, right up there with Tolkien.

As someone who's read many books in his time, I was surprised as to how utter immersed I became in this book. It has such a rich, compelling story. And you definitely get a feel for house stark as you turn the pages. Winter is coming.

Bought this for my brother & he couldn't put the book down. Now he wants to purchase the rest of the books. Recommend you read the books before watching the tv series if you do.

If you havent seen the series yet then this is a great starting point! Martin combines war, murder, sex and betrayal all in one little gem of a book. I can promise all readers nasty little surprises when you expect it the least too :P (in a kinda good way)

Martin has a way with words, and the universe he has crafted comes to life in this book. I have no words to give it justice; just know that you should read it. Any fantasy reader would. And even if you're not into fantasy, maybe give it a try- [;

This book is one of those epics that you simply HAVE to read! When it first arrived I thought ‘wow that's rather a long book!’ but it's so good I read it in less than a week :)

Loved the book even more than the mini series.

I ordered this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it was delivered the very next day amidst all the rush! Although he's not letting me read it yet until he's finished it, I snuck a look at the first few pages and simply couldn't bear to put it down!

Fantastic story, really enjoying it they have made the series very close to the book.

I could not put it down, spending all night reading suddenly seemed quite reasonable.

Brilliant book, and while it is quite long, it is really interesting the whole way through. Better than J.K. Rowling and Tolkien put together. Fascinating and one of the best books I have ever read.

Any fan of Tolkien will be captivated by this experience.

My partner started reading the series when they first came out and has been hassling me to read them. When I finally picked up “A Game of Thrones” and started to read I was hooked.

George R.R. Martin has created an intricate and cleverly constructed world that allows the reader to engage with characters. This book is a wonderful introduction into a fantastic series, with it's twists leaving you reeling.

Cannot get enough of Song of Ice and Fire! Will read this book many times and all the rest no doubt!

I had heard many good things about this book and was happily surprised that I found it at least as good as people had told me it was. Definitely worth the read.
