Description

This small volume explains the origin of the design of the West Kilbride Town Crest (usually and erroneously called the Coat of Arms) in 1888, and explores how it has developed over the subsequent one and a quarter centuries. This book will appeal to local historians, but will also be of assistance to those who are interested in the Crested China sold throughout Britain from the early 1880's. Readers from other towns and villages are sure to find the book a useful tool in researching the origins of their own town crest.
