Every one engaged in metallurgic pursuits must feel how much the science and practice of the various branches of these are indebted to such an author as Dr. Percy, the candour and impartiat of whose writings (the fruits of long experience) are only excelled by the exhaustive way in which each subject is treated by him, the latter fact, of necessity, rendering his works voluminous.
