This book describes a frequency domain model to predict the far-field broadband noise. Nonlinear wave propagation is observed in the noise created by many sources such as fighter jet aircraft, explosions, gunfire, sonic booms etc. This nonlinear behavior, which includes the transfer of energy to high frequencies from central and lower frequencies, is captured in the present algorithm. The numerical model solves the generalized nonlinear Burger's equation and accurately captures the nonlinear affects in broadband high-speed jet noise propagation. A literature review in this field is also provided and the existing noise prediction algorithms are compared with the present work.
