Description

Excerpt from A Pickwickian Pilgrimage This little book is made out of letters published in The New York Tribune in the summer of 1879. A few paragraphs have been added here and there, and other slight changes have been made; but the original matter remains substan tially as it was first written. I did not know, until after the last of the letters had appeared in print, that the London of Charles Dickens was the subject of a small volume published in 'eng land a few years ago; but that a theme has been treated once is not always a reason why it ought not to be treated again. A writer in Scribner's Monthly has since gone over the same field, and found many fresh and curious things to tell and the topic is not yet exhausted. It appears to me that the record of my random saunterings differs. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
