Derrington, in the very short space of time available; and to him has been committed the task of seeing these pages through the press. The present edition numbers copies, which the Government propose to distribute principally through the agency of the Mining Exhibition referred to, providing also for requirements in the colonies. In this way they will endeavor to convey information to English capitalists and others financially interested in our mines, and also afford an opportunity for the general public to acquire some knowledge of the extent to which this country may claim to be regarded as having a great mining future before it.
