He says we certainly do not wish A. D. B. To accept of Fox as an original authority any more than T huanus (though Fox was Thuanus's senior by thirty-six years, having been born in but he could not in honesty have attested that Waldo's 'doings' were then extant in old parchment monuments', if he had not proof of (lie-fact. He tells us that Fox, in a laborious examination of testimony, when the facts were comparatively recent, and 'parchment monuments' were still he says in existence, comes to the con elusion that Waldo was fully competent to translate the word of God into his vernacular tongue, and that he did so - that a certain confession, to which Fox makes no allusion, could not have escaped his scrutiny if it was in existence he calls for an examination of the martyrologists' statements, and boldly asks Does Fox falsify, or unfairly abridge, or partially select documents?
