Y: To Which Are Annexed, a Bible Creed and Six Letters to Rev. D. C. Lansing, D.D., Late Pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, in Said City, on the Subject of a Course of Lectures Delivered by Him Against Universalism, in the Winter of 1830 In regard to the peculiar style of the first three letters, I have merely to refer the reader to the explanation in letter fourth, for the reasons inducing me to adopt that style, believing that Will satisfy every cant, did and discriminating mind, of the perfect propriety of the course adopted; and asking the reader not to lay aside the book till he has read through the explanation - then, if _he does not choose to read fur ther, or is afraid of having his faith in modern Orthodoxy, so called, shaken he had better lay it aside.
