I'm a Coen brothers fan who – oddly – doesn't like all their movies. I absolutely love SOME of their movies and some are even close to being among my favourite movies of all time, but some of them … well, I just can't get into them. I bought this movie on a whim and was overjoyed to realize that it is firmly in my ‘favourite’ category, and is classic Coen. If you like linear, step-by-step, follow-all-the-rules story lines, you will hate this. But if you like to enjoy the tantalizing employment of each character, each scene, each piece of dialogue for what they are/it is, and note the recurring themes of the movie keep appearing (sometimes obliquely, and sometimes right in your face), then you will be delighted by this film.
