"Good but not great"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The model is pretty good, but it does require extra work to remove some mold lines, most accessories from other bismark 1/350 kits will fit, like metal barrels, wooden deck, anchor chains will work but may need some modification. Some of the biggest complaints are like most models its best to paint nearly all parts before assembly which is the opposite to what the instructions say to do. Some parts are almost ensured to break due to how they are held onto the spruce. And the plastic does not seem to hold paint well, along with having to use some putty in some parts to fill very clear gaps that shouldn't be there. Final downside is how hard it is to find a paint list for this ship.

But all in all I am glad I purchased it. And after some hard work it turned out good.....then I let my neice and nephew help paint and assemble it so whilst objectively it looks worse its the best model I have because they could help and build memories together.

"Brilliant kit"

Very good value for money. A good challenge for a learner, but if you're patient and take your time, you will be rewarded with a beautiful display model.

Description

Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships built for the German Kriegsmarine. Named after Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, the primary force behind the unification of Germany in 1871, the ship was laid down at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg in July 1936 and launched two and a half years later in February 1939. Work was completed in August 1940, when she was commissioned into the German fleet. Bismarck and her sister ship Tirpitz were the largest battleships ever built by Germany, and two of the largest built by any European power.
