An introductory overview of a range of influential theories and treatment approaches to the main psychological problems experienced in adulthood. The key areas outlined include cognitive behavioural, psychoanalytic, social and biological approaches to to the problems being considered. The psychological problems covered include depression, anxiety schizophrenia, eating disorders, drug addiction, and sexual and marital problems. The chapters are all written by practising clinical psychologists who have both clinical and research interests in the areas about which they write. It is aimed at A level, BA/BSc psychology, MA clinical psychology students/lecturers, counsellors, occupational therapists & social workers and nurses (RMN/CPN).
