"Outdated kit - plastic injection mould has seen better days"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Such a disappointment to open this kit and see 40% of the parts detached from their sprues and rolling around loosely in the plastic bag. This should build to a beautiful representation of one of the early bombers of the RAF but the warpage of major kit parts and major imperfections from a very obviously worn out old mould make building this kit extremely hard work. Not recommended for beginners because of this but if you're a fan of larger 1/72 scale bombers, with a bit of extra effort than would normally be required you will have a lovely old battle taxi to add to your collection.

"What an abomination"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This kit from Airfix is from a 1962 mold but reboxed to make it look more modern. Most parts are covered in flash, poorly designed, almost all parts are poor fitting, it is historically inaccurate, holes are etched into the wrong places, some parts are all but unusable and some more fragile than they should be.

Description

The first types of Handley Page Halifax, the Marks I and II, were fitted with in-line engines and triangular fins and it was not until 1944 that the radial-engine Mark III appeared. The Halifax B.III, in addition to its more powerful engines and redesigned tail unit, featured much heavier armaments than the earlier aircraft and a greatly improved performance.

When production ceased in 1946, 6176 Halifaxes had been produced, and over 2,000 of these were the B.III variant. The Halifax B.III was powered by four Bristol Hercules XVI engines, each of 1,675hp, giving a maximum speed of 451.20km/h and range of up to 3,176km. Bomb load was 5,895.70kg, up to 4535.90kg being carried in the fuselage and 1380.75kg in the wing bomb cells. Defensive armament consisted of nine machine gun
