Discussions about harvesting embryonic stem cells from human embryos have hitherto failed to lead to any consensus. Yet there have been interesting new turns in the discussiondue tothe development of scientific alternatives that seek to access human pluripotent stem cells in a fashion that is ethically less problematic. This book presents the scientific concepts related to these developments and evaluates their legal and ethical aspects.
