Since then many have expressed a desire for something similar on a larger scale - for a portable volume containing nough information to enable anyone to read the New Testament. The present work (the first New Testament Vocabulary published in the Mandarin Dialect) has been prepared to meet this desire, and to seek by the analysis of characters to render intelligible what seems a maze of mystery to a new-comer.
