"Laugh out loud awesomeness!"
5 stars"

Review by Krystle on 22nd June, 2011

This is so briliant, if you want to laugh out loud and see a very different type of travel programme then this DVD is for you. Karl Pilkington is the kind of guy that is happiest sitting on his couch in England with his home comforts and he doesn't really like trying new things so this leads to hilarious consequences when he is put in unusual situations in different countries. I think China is by far the funniest episode, watch him as he tries to swallow a bit of toad & compares the Great Wall of China to the M6 and says it isn't a great wall, it's an ‘alright’ wall. So so funny.

"LOL so good"
5 stars"

Review by Nick on 2nd July, 2011

Karl is so serious and believes what he says to be right (as does all of us) but he is so upfront and describes it in the funniest way so unintentionally. Hes way outside his comfort zone expriencing so many different cultures where at times to our amusement he gets quite… Well youll soon see what I mean.

One of the funniest lines he says about the great wall of China is “its an Alright wall of China”. When he goes to the Taj Mahal in India he says “So what did he do to his wife, because if I built something for my wife she'd say what did you do”

So good so upfront a great series

"Hillarious, A Must See"

This DVD is a must see, Karl Pilkington is the funniest guy, If you ever wanted to see the Wonders Of The World then you don't need to travel far, pick up this DVD and enjoy rolling around the floor Laughing Out Loud.

An Idiot Abroad follows the star of The Ricky Gervais Show, Karl Pilkington as he undertakes a journey of a lifetime. British comedy legends Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant throw down the gauntlet to send Karl around the globe to force him out of his comfort zone – Stephen wants the experience to broaden Karl's mind and change his outlook on the world but Ricky wants Karl to hate every minute of it for his own amusement.

Dispatched on what many would term a journey of a lifetime, the 'little Englander' will be putting his misgivings to one side as Karl finds out for himself what the fuss is about. He will travel to the Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Meanwhile Gervais and Merchant will be keeping a watchful eye from London, monitoring every step of Pilkington's journey.

The conclusion of the series sees the weary traveller returning home to report on his findings. Karl commented: "They all laughed at Columbus when he said the world was round. Now Ricky wants people to laugh at me cos my head is round. I'm Karlumbus. Thing is, I've seen places that Ricky will probably never see in his life so I suppose I get the last laugh. Mind you, if he suddenly got into the idea of travel I would tell him not to bother with China or Egypt".
