Description

For the first time on CD, Raven presents a definitive multi-label compilation from Chip Taylor - born James Voight (brother of actor Jon Voight, uncle of Angelina Jolie)

This collection examines the New York singer songwriter’s work from 1971 to 1979. 23 essential tracks culled from eight albums originally released by Buddah, Warner, Columbia and Capitol – a fertile period that found him accepted as a peer of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt and John Prine and a prime architect of the burgeoning genre ‘Americana’.

Best known for the worldwide hits he wrote for others – ‘Angel of the Morning’, ‘Wild Thing’, ‘I Can’t Let Go’, ‘I Can Make It With You’, ‘Any Way You Want Me’ and ‘Try Just a Little Bit Harder’ – Taylor’s solo recordings are just as impressive.
