Of these supplementary systems the first must be initiated in the home, while the second can be carried forward only through the stim ulus afforded by an intelligent and cooperative social spirit. The act of living is in itself the most impontant natural educa tional process with which the human body has to do, and since the life process is one continuous Whole, certainly the forces directing this process must form one interrupted series - the breaks marking but the passage of one state into another.
