Author Biography:

H KAN TH RN is Professor at the Department of Sociology, G/teborg University, Sweden. His research mainly deals with issues related to social movements and globalization, and he has written and co-edited a number of books on these topics, including Horizons: Perspectives on a Global Africa (with Elisabeth Abiri), and No Name Fever: AIDS in the Age of Globalization (with Maj-Lis Foll?r).
