Question: Can you get a decent projector roughly the size of a phone (in desk space) for a price that won't break the bank-

The answer is yes-ish. It can't be tilted (not for technical reasons, it'll just distort the picture and there's no way to correct it) and it definitely does not do close-range projection. But if you can get it the right distance from the wall and elevated properly, it throws a serviceable projection onto the wall. (Or ceiling. It's square and points up decently well.) You're not going to be marveling in awe at the realistic graphics of anything any time soon, but you paid less than $500 for this projector, so that's fair.

It comes with a remote (sans batteries), and a wall-charger. It has a built-in battery which can be enabled / disabled with a tiny little switch, which will sacrifice brightness (according to the manual) but otherwise let it run without external power. Sound quality's okay, but you can plug in an external set of speakers to improve that. It'll run a Chromecast with no problem, which can make it a portable Netflix / Youtube machine. It's portable, and feels reasonably robust. (I'm not gonna punt it down a hallway any time soon, mind)

Note that the remote is necessary if you want to fiddle with any of the few settings it has; the buttons on the machine itself can only change source (HDMI, AV in, or removable storage), and adjust volume.

It does everything it says it'll do, and given the price, at a rather decent value. If you need a projector you don't mind losing or breaking, this might be your best shot.

I’m super happy with this! We found out that the projector has a screw hole for a tripod which is amazing! You can also plug in yiur speakers. All you need to do is set up a white sheet and chuck your projector on a tripod! (Or prop it up on a couple of boxes). We were surprised with how good the quality was (don’t expect cinema quality – it’s 480p so scales up okay- sponge bob looks better than Star Wars. But Star Wars was still okay). It’s great in a dark room, but a bit weak when there’s light. Our friends were super impressed on our movie night! I’m really happy with this purchase and would 10/10 recommend!

As one would expect, it's nothing fantastic, but at the price and size I have nothing to complain about. I bought it for retrogaming on my raspberry pi which it handles well.

For the price this tiny projector is awesome! I have a small room so it’s perfect for my space. I attached a command strip that supports 7kgs and stuck it on the wall above my bed. I’ve enjoyed endless YouTube watching on the projector since then. Now I’m tempted to spend a few more dollars and get a home theatre one for the lounge which is a much bigger space. Should’ve bought this sooner!

It isn't bad for the price you pay, it is a little on the smaller side scale-wise, but perfect for what I wanted it for. Not recommended to do any business presentations as lettering can get very fuzzy, but decent enough for subtitles.
Sound is a bit crappy on it, but has aux output so was able to connect my headphones or stereo, but it can do in a pinch if you don't have/want those options. Not ideal to watch during the day, especially in summer as you need super blackout curtains to watch during the day. Any streak of light renders it almost unwatchable. Overall decent, can watch things on your ceiling with no issues. Very happy with it :)

I use this projector purely for tufting rugs, and it does the job well. When I want to draw an outline of something, I'll put it on a flash drive, connect it to the projector, and then project the image onto the tufting cloth. The image quality isn't exceptional (it also isn't the worst and for its price is good value), but it's definitely adequate for your rug tufting needs! The only issue I have is I couldn't find a way to make images full-screen, so was left with a menu bar down the bottom. There's no pivot so you have to get creative, but it's easy enough to adjust the projector so this menu is under your frame and you can also resize (and even rotate) the image via that menu so it fits better on your cloth!

The image is fairly decent as long as you have absolutely no light in the room at all, it has a few media solutions which is very handy, and for such a small projector it still has a speaker, which isn’t half bad

Was a bit skeptical when I purchased this, but I was extremely surprised with the quality it projects. Really great for a bedroom or lounge on a white wall :) as long as you eliminate as much lightsource as possible in the room it works really well. I recommend:) Thanks Mighty Ape

Yeah pretty useless really. Can’t play Netflix using this, only YouTube 🤦🏾

Bought it for my daughter and now we have movie nights every weekend.

It's cool but very pixelated, might work better on a proper screen.

Easy instructions easy set up …perfect for our needs …and it's cute as!
