Some classics are classics because they are old. This is a classic that is actually an enjoyable read and a nice light hearted romp around the world of Victorian times. The terrible 2004 movie version with Steve Coogan has no resemblence to the actual book, so don't be put off by that, this is fun to read, and would make a good movie if they actually stuck to the story in the book. The hero is your classic stiff upper lip English gentleman who encounters many adventures on his 80 days around the world. And a nice ‘twist’ at the end, which must have been novel for it's day. And with these books being such good value, you really can't lose.
