I have been writing poetry most of my life. I am seventy-one years old and have been married for fifty years. I now pastor a small church that sits on top of a hill in a village called Ligon, Kentucky. My poems are about nature and social problems. I have a degree in psychology and graduated from Pikeville College in Pikeville, Kentucky. I have three children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. I live in the small town of Hi Hat, Kentucky. I live in a large house beside a small stream. I write poetry because I canat make myself stop. I thank God for the gift of poetry. Writing has taken me places I never thought I would go. This book of poems is about back then and out there because life is a journey. I never know where life will take me, so I enjoy the ride. To me, writing poetry is just a way of life.
