The magic system is balanced so that no spell is inherently better than any other. However, each type of spell in Dereth has an energy reservoir that all casters of that spell draw upon and that will gradually recharge if left untapped. The more a spell is cast within a certain time frame, the less effective it becomes. As you discover spells, conserve their power by keeping them to yourself, or share them with your grateful allies.

The Allegiance system gives incentive for other characters to immediately extend you friendship and patronage, and allows you to gain noble titles, use special artifacts, and ultimately lead a huge organization to lasting fame. Unique Character Creation
Players can create characters that are visually unique utilizing three heritage groups and hundreds of facial features and clothing options. In all, there are over 100 million visual combinations. In addition, there are six character attributes and greater than 30 skills from which players can customize initial performance levels.

Innovative Player Interaction
Asheron's Call's allegiance and fellowship system facilitates a social dimension of game play never before experienced in a computer game.
