My first pair of Astros to try, and these are amazing. The headset is comfortable for long gaming sessions and the flexible microphone has good sound quality while being easy to move out of the way.
The updated MixAmp works great for the PS4, the setup is quick and simple and changing the presets on the equalizer is very straight forward.
Second pair of Astro's and was reluctant to try this brand again after my horrible experience with the A10. The A40's are something else! The quality is amazing and currently running through the mix amp and PC. Astro command centre is easy to use and the pre-set profiles are nice. Highly recommend.

If you are like me and prefer to to use other chat systems like Skype or Discord instead or the PS4 crappy party chat system, or like to watch you tube or a movie and gaming at the same time and like to hear the sound of both, this is an excellent choice. No more trying to Mac Gyver it and wrap different audio cables and and frankenstein equipment to get a set up how you like it. The the A40 TR makes it easy to set up and with the computer app you can easy adjust your sound up to four setting as well as tweaking each sound to your liking you can also isolate chat and game sound so one is louder then the other. I was amazed at the sound, I could hear footsteps, the clanging of swords the reloud of guns as well as pin point enemies and the direction they were coming from, it really made gaming extremely enjoyable. I thought I had a great head set before but this one was just so easy to set up and go with amazing sound it is worth the price. The only thing I would say is there is no turning off the amp, you either leave on and disconnect the USB or just leave it on and change your computer sound setting if you don't want to use the head set for sound. An on and off button would have made this excellent headset set up an even more excellent headset set. Over all totally recommend it if you are that type of specific gamer.
Bought these to replace my hyperx cloud alphas. They are definitely on a whole other level, the amp adds so much better volume, the stage is much larger and you can customize the settings to hear footsteps with ease! 100% recommend. If you are worried about price, just remember how many times you will play that game and use these headphones, 1$ per use is an absolute bargain!
The build quality is not great at all, the paint came off after a few uses, and for the $400 price tag c'mon.
