Astro A50 Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station (PS4 & PC) reviews

If you're looking for a high quality gaming headset, you can't go wrong with this one. Super stylish and incredibly comfy, the microphone picks up sound well, and the sound quality is exceptional. The base for charging is super sleek, although it does produce a lot of light so may not be suitable for bedrooms with light-sensitive sleepers. However, that's one small fault for an otherwise exceptional product.

Very nice headset, Well made and crisp sound. Perfect for gaming and music. The new charging station looks very slim and cool too!

I previously had the Gen3 Astros and they were flawless and gave me phenomenal sound and precision sound direction (footsteps, voices etc). These Gen4 Astros are essentially the same but offer an even better battery life which is well over 15hrs and redesigned base station charger which is slimmer and offers better electrical contact when docking the headphones (in most cases with the gen3 you’d need to spend a good 30seconds trying to dock the headphones correctly on the contacts before they would charge)

The Astro A50 headset is so good! The sound is crisp the lower frequencies response is perfect as is the higher frequencies. Charged them over night to get a full charge and never went below 70% battery after a 10+ hour gaming session.

After coming from a senheiser gaming headset this seem build alot more cheap, feels more flimsy than the GSP-670 and the optical didnt work correctly with pc which would have stopped me buying the headset if I had known beforehand :-(

A50s have the best audio and mic you'll find at this price point.

Unfortunately they won't last you long due to extremely cheap build quality – after using the micro USB port only FOUR times the port was pushed inside the station and the headset no longer works.

On further inspection Astro has made no attempt to secure the usb port to the PCB. No glue, no solder – it's literally just sitting on the PCB with four metal prongs, leading almost certain failure.

Do yourself a favour and avoid a 550$ headset that's backed by an embarrassing 12mth warranty.

Horrible headset dont buy them they stop charging after 2 months

Purchased a set of these Astro A50 start of Dec 2023 but only started using them mid February 2024 and in less than a month of using them the top part where your head rests has already broken off, should of just left them in the box. Not worth the money at all

Absolutely great headphones, the only problem was that I had to get a converter to be able to use with my ps5. Probably should mention so others don’t get caught out, and also they don’t connect to ps4 slim without converter.

The sound quality through the headset is amazing and it is so comfortable on my head! I work for 8 hours and game for probably another 4–5 and for most of this time, I have on my headset – it does not hurt my head. I am eczema prone and I have found other headsets irritate the back of my ears but these bad boys don't. The only major downfall for me is that the mic is really touch and go. If I am not speaking loud and do not have the mic close to my mouth then I have been told my sentences can cut out half way through. This has been the same since they first arrived but it does not bother me enough to complain. Just some honest feedback.

Still havent updated on computer, abit complicated to set up, but really good head phones for recording music, love that they are wireless, easy to switch instruments and record. Cant plug in optical cord to ps4, that's annoying.

Has anyone else manage to get this to work on the PS5 or received their free adapter if they bought it before the end of Jan 2021– I bought mine before the end of January 2021 and submitted my application to receive my free adapter, didn't receive it so I submitted it again and emailed them from the email that is auto generated and it's an invalid email address, Astro doesn't ship to New Zealand and with out the adapter it doesn't sound good
