"An Epic Story Told Through Great Illustrations"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

I became a fan of this series through the anime adaptation, so this colossal edition of the manga is my first purchase of this title. I'd been reading the official digital releases from Crunchyroll's manga catalogue, and decided to buy it physically. Initially, I planned to buy the separate volumes, until I stumbled across this gem. I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner. I love how big this edition is – the size really brings out the greatness of the illustrations. The coloured pages are a fantastic bonus! I'm thrilled about the extra chapter included – Ilse's Journal, a great side story that adds to the mystery of a particular canon character. The only thing I would've preferred for this book is if it had a hardback binding due to its size, but other than that, this edition AND the story itself is amazing!

Description

Collecting the first five volumes of the phenomenally successful Attack on Titan, this is the perfect introduction to the brutal and immersive world of the Titans. In this post-apocalyptic sci-fi story, humanity has been devastated by the bizarre, giant humanoids known as the Titans. Little is known about where they came from or why they are bent on consuming mankind. For the past century, what's left of the human race has hidden in a giant, three-walled city. But how much longer can they stay hidden?
