This book is beautifully presented and the photography is very pleasing. Perhaps the title led me to believe that I was going to find partridge/pears/ geese etc. Recipes – however impractical they might be! I was expecting something more exotic or at least some new twist to food for the Christmas season. This was more of a summer holiday recipe book (of which there are many on the market ) and few of the recipes are exciting. In fact, many dishes do not require a 'recipe’ at all (e.g. Sandwiches, wraps, toasties) and a large number of dishes lacked originality (e.g. Bean salad, Cajun chicken, berry muffins). Overall, it was a disappointing purchase.

This will make a good gift for friends who love to prepare a festive table of food at Christmas.

Well written recipes shown with interesting recipes but I would only be interested in doing a few of them. I don't do much entertaining now and these recipes were rather elaborate for my taste. Still very enjoyable, looking at this very attractively presented book.
