Author Biography
Simms Taback won the Caldecott Medal for Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, of which The Horn Book wrote, "The art sings with color and movement and humor and personality." And he received a Caldecott Honor Award for There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly. With Blue Apple, he won the 2008 Parents' Choice Gold Award for Simms Taback's Safari Animals, the 2006 Scholastic Parent & Child Best Book of the Year for Peek-a-Boo, Who? , and the 2004 Child Best Book of the Year, the 2004 Parenting Book of the Year, and the 2004 Parents' Choice Gold Award for Simms Taback's Big Book of Words.
