This baby journal record book, illustrated by London based Yasmeen Ismail and layout designed by April is wonderfully simple and full of visual delights. Printed on different paper stocks, there are pages to record your babies progress as well as information and ideas of things to do.
The result is a wonderfully laid out mix of pages including first outing, how to swaddle, funny games, family tree and space for hand and foot prints. There are envelopes for locks of hair and the hospital bracelet and even a section on how to make a mobile.
This compact baby journal makes a refreshing change from the usual saccharine fare that new parents find themselves facing. Yasmeen Ismail is a successful illustrator and animator whose bright and brilliant watercolour paintings provide the perfect frame for thoughts and reflections. After all, you might have a baby, but that does not mean you've had a complete crisis of taste!
The book is printed on different paper stock interleaved with one another, and little envelopes in which to place mementos a leaf from a walk in the park, a lock of hair, a flyer from the first exhibition you went to.
“..Full of beautiful illustrations, pockets to put all the little things you want to keep and useful but humorous tips. It also printed on different types of paper which adds a lot! Nice to have a baby journal that is gender neutral for all those parents who want to keep the gender of their baby a surprise. Perfect gift!” J. Niemeyer
“Small but beautiful. A great baby book, not traditional and not full of fluffy teddy in pink and blue, just what I wanted. I am really happy with this book and I would recommended it to anyone looking for a baby book…” Pickle
“Love this book. The layout is great and the illustrations are so cute. I've really enjoyed putting it together for baby. You can add your own notes as well as the suggested milestones too.” Georgia Bozekova
