"Superb game, sub-optimal edition"
5 stars"

A true classic. This game will absorb you for hours upon hours.

However, this package contains only the second and third parts of a truly epic trilogy. If possible, I recommend getting the “Baldur's Gate Ultimate Collection”: this collection includes Baldur's Gate 1 and its expansion as well, and on DVD rather than CD. Then you can play the entire storyline – Baldur's Gate, Shadows of Amn, and Throne of Bhaal.

"Epic"

The Title of this review rates BG2 Perfectly, its huge story, and scope set it apart from most other games.. a word of warning however, if you are into hack and slash – then you might want to give it a miss, for others though who prize story and content, then this is one game you should not miss! It is a party based game centered of course around the PC, you can have 5 NPC's travel with you for a max of 6 in total in your Party. It is especially enjoyable to watch the partymembers interact with eachother. The Graphics are dated, however… do not expect HL2 graphics, or any 3D at all for that matter, it is running within the old 2D Infinity Engine… That is not to say it is ugly, far, far from it. It runs on AD&D Rules, complete with dozens of classes and specialized classes, 100's of Spells, quests galore, and so so much to explore. The writing is excellently done, pulling you deeply into the Forgotten Realms. In Whole, a deeply engrossing game that will keep the RPG player ingame for hours.
