"Seriously addictive, prepare to give up your social life."
5 stars"

This game should have been titled Battlecrack 3. While the single player campaign is short and rather cliche, where this title really shines in online play. Its just seriously challenging and addictive gameplay, the huge amount of gear available to unlock keeps you going for dozens of hours, and even after that there will still be loads of fun to be had.

Graphics are gorgeous cranked up on my high end pc, but the game is perfectly playable and still looks ok on lower spec machines. Still you will want a quad core and at least a 5770 or better to get any sort of decent frame rates out of it.

For the first week I had this game I barely left the house, playing about 40 hours. I'm down to 1–2 hours a day now and I'm still in love with it.

With four classes, various combinations of equipment loadouts, and all the tanks helicopters and jets to fly, there are just so many different strategies you can play this game with.

If you want to get hundreds of hours of fun and huge value for money buy this game.

If you have a job to hold down, studies to complete, or a family to spend time with you may wish to think twice before buying.

"The Will be BEST Battlefield/Mulitplayer Game Ever!"
5 stars"

Got the game last week, the graphic and sound is AWESOME, even on Low setting it look like on high setting in CoD, but when tune to ultra, it is unmatched.

For campaign, it is somewhat similar to Black Ops campaign where SPOILER you sit in an interrogating room and recalling your past action, just like in Black Ops, except for one is set in a modern day while another set in between WWII and the Cold War. SPOILER

For the Multiplayer, it is unquestionably Wonderful, especially when jump in into a full 64 player Conquest Large map like Op Firestorm, Caspian Border etc… And it is very very addicting, I find it hard to try to stop playing, round after round, I still want to keep playing.

Beside from some glitch in the campaign which is not so important since BF series is always known for its great multiplayer mode. The game is a must-buy! For CoD player wanting to try it out, and if you want to have a good time with it, then try play Objective, support your team by spotting, throw down ammo box/medic kit, repair tanks. And I bet you will find it hard to quit the game. Lol. For the score I would give it a 9.5/10. And it deserve a Game Of The Year Edition!

However as for this edition, you will have to spend 15USD if you want to get the upcoming Back to Karkand in December, but it would worth more than 15 buck since the expansion will include new maps, weapons, vehicle and best of all an upgraded version of the original Battlefield 3's Destruction 3.0.

"Awesome Multiplayer. Short Single player"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The Singleplayer part of this game is very short (About 5 Hours). While this is nothing new to modern gamers I still remember when a game used to take weeks to finish. The single players missions are full of action and excitement, just not enough of them. The Multiplayer part of this game has awesome expansive maps, huge teams battle it out in Conquest, Rush, Squad Deathmatch. This part of game is where you will spend most of your time. Days and weeks or even years of fun to be had. If your not into MP games then this is not something that I would recommend. Overall 4 out of 5 from me.

"Intense gaming experience"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I had high expectations of BF3 after spending many hours playing BF2.

I personally avoided the single player campaign after around 10 minutes of game play to opt for the much anticipated 64 player games, a wise move.

Multiplayer action is what BF3 is all about. A good sense of teamwork is required, many weapons and add-ons to unlock and a good variety of vehicles to use.

I cannot get enough of it right now, excellent stress relief!

"Way better than cod"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Although origin (EA program you use to ‘launch’ Battlefield 3) can be a bit clunky, once you're in the game you forget about the long loading times and the queue you had to wait for the large servers (32 & 64 players). Intuitive user interface that doesn't clutter the screen, and weapon unlock feels like less of a grind than CoD. It's actually fun to work as a team in this game…

Loving the support class right now! Ammo love for all :)

"A FPS OTHER THAN COD"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Well first off it is fun, easy to get used to except the flying vechiles.

Graphics are amazing as we all know since DICE produced the Frostbite2 engine.

Audio is amazing, best used with surround sound or headphones as this game has alot of power behind its sound system e.g. shell shock, suppression and deafning based on distance of explosion/bullet and power of projectile.

The online Community is good, nicer than console community as PC gamers tend to be older and in so more mature and mic spam less.

This is a BIG upgrade from the last game DICE did (Bad company 2), BF3 is “harder” (less bullets to die) and requires a squad to work with in order to win.

The campaign is good but nothing amazing except for the end which was done very very well.

Has less replayablity than BFBC2 (imo)

OVERALL its 4.5/5 so i have to say 4/5.

"Good game, but...."

Major issues with online play. Every time one glitch gets sorted another one shows up. I have been unable to play for the last 2 days and couldn't get online for about 5 days when I first got it the other week, but over all it is a great game.

"An excellent deal."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Using this with the promo code to drop the price another $10, this was an excellent steal at $68! Plus it runs surprisingly smooth on my system, being borderline minimum, I can still get 60-ish FPS on low settings on quite a few areas!

"Multiplayer is great"

This game is all about multiplay and co-op the campaign mode is same old same old nothing new just follow the story line,Even in NZ there are alot of guys playing on line so the ping rate is low and easy to join.

"Multi-player genuis!"
5 stars"

Battlefield 3 online gaming is highly addictive, always new ways to play, NZ servers always up and running with players ranging from newbs to seasoned vets.

You will never go into a game assuming you will be a sniper or medic, as you need to adapt to your teams style and position in the game.

The reward system for unlocking weapons, specialisations and achievements is well designed and allows cross-matching of kit components to meet needs of the game being played at the time.

Overall I have never been more pleased with a FPS game!!!

I havent even touched the single player campaign due to the Multi-player experience being too awesome (i get bouts of FOMO).

"Want to buy a game you can't play-"

EA, just like all the game publishers now, they have all skipped the testing phase where us (the consumers that pay money) become their testers.

Every time I launch Origin my router crashes, YES MY ROUTER CRASHES. Apparently it's a widely reported problem which EA doesn't bother to do anything about now they've got your money. Without internet connection you can't do shxt. Now I'm stuck with a game I've paid big money for but can't play.

GG EA. I don't want to hear you complaining the so-called PC piracy problems, sort you own shxt out first please.

"Superb Game."
4 stars"

Great game which live up to all it's hype, and it run without a single hicup on my PC. The only thing that I could be critical about is that it seemed to be a rather short game this is the only reson I have given a 4 star rating instead of a five.

One of the best gaming keyboards I've used so far. Nice look n feel, awesome back lit keys for gaming in the dark. Highly recommended to all. Haven't use it that much yet so I can't tell you much about durability hence only 4 star at this stage.

"Buyer Beware"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

If one does not have an up to date gaming PC then do not expect anything to run smoothly, I encountered major lag online unless on squad death match or death match.

Campaign is not worth the space on your hard drive .

HOWEVER it truly is a fun game when it plays right, looks beautiful ( even on low ) and for NZ there are plenty of low ping servers.

So in general make sure you *rig can handle it well otherwise it will be a frustration as the game still has many bugs to be fixed.

  • To check if your pc can hit the benchmark try looking around online like on ‘System Requirements Lab’.

"EAs Origin Software ruins a fine game"
1 stars"

Unfortunately this game requires EAs Origin Software, which causes nothing but problems on my PC. I will not be buying any future games that require this service. This is another case of paying customers having to suffer while pirate get a superior experience without Origin/DRM.

I love battlefield due to the aspect of an actual battleground! you can drive tanks planes and helicopters! it's guns malfunction is awesome but takes a couple more shots to kill than in call of duty!

"Overall good game."
5 stars"

I really enjoy this game. I've only had it for about a month but (because it is so easy to play) I have found that I can actually compete against other players online. I have not tried the single player yet but I am sure it is good. What I hear about Origin being bad is a load of crap. I have never had any problems. What are you people on about- Get a job and stop filling the Mighty Ape pages with junk.

"One of the best games so far!!!"

What a beast of a game!, awsome graphics story line and game play online just make it even better yet!

Mighty ape shipped it strait away I was playing it the next day.

"Amazing game for the casual to the hardcore"
5 stars"

DICE's latest first person shooter is a masterpiece, both terms of graphics and gameplay. The casual gamer can jump in and have some fun firing the multitude of varied weapons, while the hardcore can squad up, take to the skies, and become key players on the battlefield. Having put in 200 hours, I can safely say this is my favourite shooter of all time.

However, this does not extend to the singleplayer. Interesting enough story, although it is detracted from by seemingly random scenarios, almost all of which consist of clearing out a room on rails and moving on to the next one, which gets tiresome and boring very quickly.

Most people will buy this for its multiplayer, which is absolutely fantastic, so I have not subtracted points for the subpar singleplayer. If you want a superb online tactical shooter experience, look no further. But beware; it requires some pretty serious hardware to pump out good framerates at high settings.

"Seems alright"

I bought the game and installed it to a point were it said I would need to download 5gb of data, this is quite alot seeing as in nz we have quite limited internet.

"Worst computer gaming experience in 25 years" Purchased on Mighty Ape

Never had a problem with any EA produced games before, despite the bad press they get. However Battlefield 3 caught me right up. Can't really say if the game is good or bad, all I saw was the Semper Fidelis intro mission. At the end of the train sequence, crash. Try again, crash. That was the last straw, uninstall.

Before that, I found the install process tedious. I had no idea about Origin before the install. The Origin UI doesn't respect custom screen DPI settings (HDTV), so it looks tiny. The in game menus don't work with the mouse for the same reason. The first time I started a campaign, I just got a black screen which needed to be killed after 5 minutes. This is the first game I've ever seen which displays a web page when you run it-! At one stage it had launched both IE and Firefox with the Battlefield 3 page-!- You have to be logged into both Origin and the Battlefield website to play- For a supposed premium title, with good reviews (on Mighty Ape), I found this all bewildering. Did Dice/EA even useability test this title- Good way to keep your customers.

It's a pity I can't return this, it was a thorough disappointment. At least the uninstaller was quick.

"Great game"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I really enjoy playing this game, but beware that it is bit of a mission to install. You have to have an EA Origin account which I had to install with the game then uninstall and reinstall to finally work. Total time it took to start playing the game was 1h25min, but worth it!!

"CoD Modern Warfare"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

EA has once again disappointed me. The game itself is fine in the way it was made, the disappointment comes because they have tried to make it like CoD MW and as such the game is no longer the style of play that BF 1942 & BF2 are famous for.

It has been made in such a way that you do not need to communicate to your team via VOIP because it would be a waste of time.

No thought has gone into the tactics of this game; it is just spray and pray.
