Marni grew up in North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and from Yale Divinity School with a master’s degree. She has treasured books and words ever since childhood. In addition to her award-winning picture books, she has written poetry, easy readers, and historical fiction. Her favorite things include reading, theater, music, travel, walks on the beach, and most of all, her children and grandchildren. She lives in Santa Barbara, California, with her husband, Sears.
