"Michael Keaton at his best!"

If you haven't seen Beetlejuice, you're missing a treat! This is the Afterlife as you probably never imagined it, in your wildest dreams (or nightmares). When a nice, middle-class American couple die in a motor accident, it takes them a little time to realise that they are actually dead. After all, they're still together, still living in their home, and watching it being sold to decidedly eccentric strangers from New York. Barbara and Adam decide to try to scare these interlopers from their home, and enlist the assistance of the sleaziest and most devious spirit, Beetlejuice. Nothing goes according to plan, but in the end, Barbara and Adam find that being dead isn't really too bad, as long as you have your own home and good company.

Always a family favourite. Very entertaining and doesn't scare the children too much ;)

Description

Beetlejuice

What's a yuppie ghost couple to do when they're quaint New England home is overrun by trendy New Yorkers? They hire a freelance bioexorcist to spook the intruders. And everyone gets more than he, she or it bargained for! Michael Keaton stars as Beetlejuice. He's a juggernaut of jokes, jolts and jive who hurls oneliners, spins into grotesque forms, gobbles insects and can't leave ladies living or dead alone. Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Winona Ryder share starring honours. Say the B word three times and have a wonderful DayO!

Critic Reviews:

  • " Keaton shines in this role, breathing life (pun intended) into an immature and manipulative ghost. " – Allison Rose
  • " The story almost comes off the rails, but Beetlejuice's charm lies more in the execution. The movie is crammed with visual invention and snappy comedy. " – Steve Rose
  • " Beetlejuice seems above all categorization, a fearlessly original piece of work. " – Dom Nero
