Bering Sea Gold is a reality television series set in Nome, Alaska that airs on Discovery Channel.
There is a Gold Rush on in the town of Nome, Alaska where a handful of people are willing to risk it all and drive to the bottom of the Bering Sea to strike gold. This group of mine drivers dredge for gold at the bottom of the sea from custom built, barely seaworthy rigs in a race to haul in as much gold as possible before the waters become too frigid to dive.
For millions of years glaciers have been melting into the Bering Sea and depositing sediments rich with gold into its waters. Watch as this daring crew face extreme cold, life threatening situations and explosive personality clashes in the hope of bringing home their own pot of gold.
With the summer months over in Nome, Alaska, the ice returns to the Bering Sea. This season follows three gold mining teams run by driven dredge captains whose very livelihoods depend on mining this wet and frozen gold. Split second thinking, extreme focus, and team work are key to staying alive under the ice. The risks are great, and the payoff even greater.
