Description

Betrayal and the Path of the Heart provides a framework for using betrayals to open your heart, to better understand yourself and others, and for expanding your consciousness. Our own experiences of coping with betrayal, both in our own lives and in those of our many clients, helped us discover a unique approach for using betrayals as a growth experience. It's important to understand the underlying causes of betrayal experiences in order to avoid repeating them. Otherwise you're likely to make choices that cause you to re-experience betrayal's painful suffering. Most people unconsciously react to betrayal with revenge against their betrayers, or they become hypervigilant in their intimate relationships to make sure they don't get hurt again. This book offers new ways to understand the causes of betrayals. Perhaps you ignored the early warning signs for what seemed to be really good reasons-you trusted too much, or believed the person saw the world or your relationships the way you did. The outcome is that you become less trusting of yourself and your ability to find dependable people. This book takes you deeper into the understanding of betrayal, helps you make better choices when you experience them, and increases your awareness about their underlying causes. It identifies how distorted views of those closest to help create betrayals. Once you are free from these distortions, you are less likely to fall prey to betrayals again.
