Blood Macro- and Microcirculation presents, in a pedagogical way, the tremendous recent progress achieved in the field of blood flow at both micro and macroscales, and with increasing complexities integrating physical, chemical and biological factors. It constitutes a unique backup of idea evolutions from the early 19th century to present day, along with the tremendous, recent progresses in experiments and simulations. Future challenges are also covered, constituting a plethora of major questions spanning the spectrum of fundamental and applied blood flow science.

Author Biography

The research topics of C. Misbah focus on the problem of theory and simulations of blood flow by taking explicitly red blood cells into account, and more recently on microswimmers (e.g. amoeboid swimming) and cell motility. C. Misbah is also involved in general questions of nonlinear sciences, and has formerley performed many studies in nonequilibrium pattern forming systems, including solidification fronts, such as snow flackes, eutectics, Molecular Beam Epitaxy, and so on. C. Misbah's activities is closely connected to several experimental studies performed in his Lab.
