First of all THIS BOOK IS NOT WRITTEN BY BOBBY FISCHER!… If you want a book he actually wrote get “MY 60 Memorable Games”
If your looking to improve at chess, and are looking into buying books and all that here is a good road map.
- First before any books, try to do 50 tactics (puzzles) a day, get yourself a chess.com premium sub, just do it. Or use chesstempo.com
- Get the book “Keep It Simple – 1.e4” by. Christof Sielecki. Or get 1.d4 don't get both. This is a great opening repertoire for white.
- Get the book “Chess Openings for Black, Explained: A Complete Repertoire” by. Lev Albert. Really good background and general information for a chess novice, and solid repertoire for black.
- People might be mad… But get “Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual” by. Mark Dvoretsky… This is a very complicated book meant for players 2000+ rating. BUT if you can understand the first chapter “Pawn Endgames” it will change the way you play chess, and improve you so much, the rest of the content you can learn as you grow.
But yeah… Avoid this trash, any free online content is better imo, its just a hype book.
