Volume One starts out with a rare demo film called "Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid" [1929] which was produced by Harman and Isling to introduce their new character to potential financial backers. The film follows the format of fleischer's Out of the Inkwell series, with Rudy Isling himself acting along side his animation creation. This pilot film caught the attention of Leon Schlesinger, who sold the series to Warner Brothers. One of the best cartoons ever produced is "Bosko the Doughboy"[1931].
