Excerpt from Brown Alumni Monthly, Vol. 16: December 1915 To return to the New Year's Day foot ball game: after the Carlisle Indian game at Providence on Thanksgiving Day an extraordinary responsibility devolved upon the Brown team because of the necessity of keeping in training for the Washington game more than a month later. How successful the attempt will prove is an open question. Moreover, there is a five days railroad trip to be taken into consideration. Differences of climate are also to be reckoned in. We shall hope for the best, but every Brown man must realize the difficulties under which the team will labor in the effort to bring the season to a triumphant close. Even if a defeat is registered for us at Pasadena, the Monthly believes the trip will have been worth while.
