Their stories are sometimes filled with hopes and fears but also of dreams of a bright future. These poems are intended to raise awareness amongst parents, carers and everyone working with children on the importance of listening to the voice of the child. The author, Mabellyn Dennis has worked within the early years sector for the past 35 years as a practitioner and a manager. She is an experienced child and family consultant who writes from a background of extensive work with children, young people and their families. She has worked on various projects in the UK the Caribbean and Africa, focusing on giving children and young people a voice.
