Caterpillars is a book for children (aged 1 - 5) who like butterflies and caterpillars. In 22 beautiful water-color images, caterpillars are paired with the butterflies they are going to be when they grow up. The book is intended to be a dialogue between the adult and the child, as the adult reads the caterpillar's line: "I am black with white spots. When I grow up I will be a...." and the child answers the name of the butterfly.

Anne-Marie Nilsson is a Swedish writer and illustrator of children's books, for example "How I grew my tomato," "Tellus plays hopscotch" and "The Mysterious Pantry-ghost."
