Mind blowingly good, this twelfth installment of the Dresden Files carries on the legacy of excellence that Jim Butcher created with Storm Front.
Susan Rodriguez, Harry's half vampire guerilla fighter ex, storms back into Harry's life, stunning him with the news that as a result of a steamy lock down tryst they had years ago, they have a daughter. For her daughter's safety, she kept her very existence a secret and sent her off into hiding with a foster family. For orphan Harry, who always dreamed of the perfect family, this is the ultimate act of betrayal.
Why tell him now- Because somehow, the Red Court found out about their daughter, tracked down and slew her foster family and took their little girl. Susan needs Harry's help to rescue Maggie before the vampires use her in a black magic ritual to destroy the White Council.
Harry could care less about the Council and their truce with the Red Court, evil vampires have his little girl and he WILL show up for her, even if it costs him everything he holds dear…
This book had me on the edge of my seat from page 1 right to the end. And once I finished it, I went back and read it again. Absolutely breathtaking read!
