Description

Two cousins + one radiation accident = the ability to see and manipulate atoms like never before. Suzie and Diego become two unlikely superheroes, determined to save the world from a monster created by the same thing that gave them powers. NGSS compliant and classroom-friendly for teachers, yet monster-filled and superpower-fueled for teen readers, CheMystery offers a superhero tale with a mystery that only science can solve.

Author Biography:

C. A. Preece is a high school chemistry teacher in central Kentucky and a graduate student at the University of Kentucky studying S.T.E.M. education, where he aims to research the effects of learning chemistry through comics. C. A. grew up on Meathouse Road in Martin County, Kentucky for most of his childhood. He later attended Morehead State University (MSU) for a B.S. in chemistry, the University of Kentucky for chemistry graduate school, and returned to MSU for a M.A. in teaching. C. A. has been teaching high school since 2010. Comics have always been a passion for C. A. as he bought his first for a dime from his uncle Dan at the age of 4. His love of comics and science have merged in his website atomicuniverse.org, panels at comic conventions on science in comics, and science consulting on a couple comic series (Solar: Man of the Atom by Frank Barbiere and Lazarus by Greg Ruka). Josh Reynolds comes from a military household, and has seen almost every corner of the U.S. He started drawing at the age of six, made his first comics at the age of thirteen, and at twenty-two, earned his BFA in Sequential Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
