Excerpt from Climatological Data, California, 1965-1966: Volumes 69-70 Storms: There were two reports of funnel clouds observ ed in southern California on the 9th and one obsenved on the loth; none resulted in any damage. Cold weather and strong winds caused extensive damage to citrus, flower crops, and truck crops in southern California from the 12th through the 14th. Wind was strong enough to over turn parked planes and house trailers, sink boats, break windows, and down trees and power lines. Heavy rain and strong wind from January 30 through February 1 in northern California downed utility lines, damaged con struction projects, unroofed buildings, and damaged homes. Highways and railroads were closed by flooding; homes and buildings were inundated; and two persons were drowned.
